Attorney at Law

Emma Jane Cone-Roddy is a seasoned subrogation lawyer with extensive experience representing clients in all aspects of civil litigation nationwide. She has built her practice on advocating for insurers, corporations, and public entities in complex disputes involving commercial claims, products liability, constitutional law, and appellate matters.

Emma’s subrogation work spans the full litigation lifecycle, from pre-suit investigation and claims evaluation through discovery, dispositive motion practice, trial, and appeal. She has second-chaired combined jury and bench trials, deposed parties in high-stakes mass tort actions, and successfully drafted motions that have protected clients from multimillion-dollar liabilities. Her subrogation practice includes recovering losses for insurers in areas such as property damage, product defects, construction, and business disputes.

In addition to her subrogation practice, Emma has represented clients in constitutional challenges, intellectual property disputes, and high-value commercial litigation. She has a strong record of appellate advocacy, including defending favorable trial court outcomes before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Arizona appellate courts.

Previously, Emma practiced with Osborn Maledon, P.A. in Phoenix and DLA Piper in Boston, and she clerked for the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Her career has also included meaningful public interest work, including litigation on healthcare access, LGBTQ+ rights, and mental health advocacy.

Emma is admitted to practice in Arizona, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has been recognized as a Best Lawyers: One to Watch in Commercial Litigation and Appellate Law, and as a Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star.
