Attorney at Law

Matthew Elias is an attorney at Amborella Law, where he focuses on subrogation litigation and recovery matters. He is an experienced litigator with a strong background in both civil and criminal litigation, representing clients across all stages of the litigation process. Matt plays a key role in advancing recovery efforts by managing complex claims, developing case strategy, and driving matters toward efficient resolution.

Prior to joining Amborella Law, Matt practiced commercial litigation and insurance defense, working a high-volume docket of complex litigation matters. Before that, Matt served as a criminal prosecutor for fourteen years, gaining tremendous trial experience representing the State of Arizona on a wide range of criminal matters. Throughout his career, he has handled thousands of cases and conducted 45 jury trials. He regularly appears in court, takes depositions, litigates contested discovery disputes, and negotiates settlements, bringing a strategic and disciplined approach to each matter. He also has extensive experience analyzing complex legal issues and drafting motions, briefs, and a wide range of legal and business documents. He has also led trainings for attorneys, judges, law enforcement, and government agencies.

In March 2021, Matt was appointed to the Arizona Supreme Court Task Force on Jury Data Collection, Practices, and Procedures. In that role, he led efforts to increase juror pay and contributed to proposals aimed at improving juror participation and modernizing the jury selection process following the elimination of peremptory challenges.

Matt earned his Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School, where he was a semi-finalist in the C. Edwin Moore Oral Argument Competition, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arizona. He is licensed to practice law in Arizona, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
